ISLAMABAD (Daily Point) — During the latest court hearing, Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa and PTI’s lawyer Latif Khosa found themselves in another exchange. The interaction occurred while discussing a case related to employment in the Supreme Court.

Khosa, representing PTI, requested the CJP to schedule another petition’s hearing, filed on behalf of former Prime Minister Imran Khan regarding his disqualification in the Toshakhana case. In response, CJP Isa pointed out Khosa’s tendency to both distrust the judiciary and seek relief from it, emphasizing the need for consistency.

CJP Isa advised Khosa to submit an application for an expedited hearing, assuring that the decision would be made in accordance with the law.

In a separate development on Monday, PTI withdrew its petition from the Supreme Court that sought a fair playing field in the upcoming general elections.

During the hearing, Latif Khosa stated that the party preferred seeking support from the people’s court for the preservation of democracy and consequently withdrew the appeal. The three-judge bench, led by CJP Qazi Faez Isa, heard the case, with Khosa expressing gratitude and stating, “Thank you very much” to the CJP.

CJP Isa inquired about PTI’s intentions regarding the case, and Khosa confirmed that he had been instructed to withdraw the application. Khosa criticized the judiciary for allegedly depriving PTI of 230 seats through a previous judgment, citing symbol allocations like glass, eggplant, and bowl as examples.
