Marwat makes accusations against President Alvi

Marwat Allegations President

ISLAMABAD (Daily Point) — President Arif Alvi, a prominent ally of Imran Khan’s party, remains the symbolic head of the executive and the supreme commander of the Armed Forces, even as his party’s premier has been ousted from the PM office, and the PTI faces a government crackdown.

Despite the ongoing crackdown, President Alvi has retained his position, leading to a growing discontent within his own party. PTI Senior Vice-President Sher Afzal Marwat has launched serious allegations against President Dr. Arif Alvi. In an interview, Marwat, who is currently contesting elections amid legal challenges, claimed that Alvi’s actions have not been in the best interests of the party.

Marwat pointed out that Alvi’s son applied for a party ticket, and the President opposed it. Accusing Alvi of betrayal, Marwat alleged that the President’s pilgrimage to Hajj was a strategic move to create an opportunity for the Senate chairman and the opposition (PDM) to bring about changes in legislation related to lawmaker disqualification.

Furthermore, Marwat blamed Alvi for approving contentious bills such as the Army Act and Cyber Crime Act, asserting that the President played no role in ensuring fair elections.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the current state of affairs, Marwat also criticized the questionable distribution of party tickets for the upcoming elections. In the midst of PTI’s challenging times, Marwat’s revelations shed light on internal divisions and disagreements within the party, adding a layer of complexity to the political landscape.
