Non-bailable arrest warrants issued for KP CM Gandapur

Gandapur KP CM Roti arrest warrants

(Web Desk Monitoring) — An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur and PTI leader Amir Mughal after they failed to appear before the court.

The warrants were issued by Judge Tahir Abbas Supra following proceedings related to cases filed at the Sangjani and I-9 police stations.

During the court session, Ali Nawaz Awan, Waseem Qayyum, Amir Kiani, and other accused were present, but both Gandapur and Mughal sought exemptions from personal appearance, which were denied by Judge Supra. The judge dismissed claims that the accused were unable to attend due to being out of town, emphasizing that exemptions could not be granted in such circumstances.

When asked about responsibility for ensuring the presence of the accused, the PTI lawyer asserted that it rested with the suspects themselves. Consequently, Judge Supra issued non-bailable arrest warrants for all absent accused and warned that those who fail to appear at the next hearing on July 8 will be declared absconders.
