LAHORE (Daily Point) – In response to the recent announcement of Mohammad Hafeez’s appointment as the head coach for the Pakistan national cricket team’s Australia tour, former all-rounder Shahid Afridi reacted on the distinctive nature of coaching as a role.

Afridi shared his views while talking on the private TV channel. He acknowledged that coaching is a unique job, stating, “The coaching role is quite a different job. But it will be fine if Hafeez is assigned the duty of coaching for one tour.” He added a note of caution, saying, “Let’s see what happens following the Australia tour.”

Expressing his perspective on coaching careers, Afridi suggested that pursuing coaching on the domestic circuit might be a more suitable path. He also shed light on the importance of gaining experience and expertise in coaching within the local cricketing context.

The announcement of Mohammad Hafeez as both the head coach and director for the Pakistan national cricket team raised eyebrows in the cricketing community. Hafeez’s dual role will extend to the team’s engagements in Australia and New Zealand, where they are scheduled to play three Tests against Australia and five T20Is against New Zealand.

The leadership dynamics for the upcoming matches were also revealed, with Shan Masood set to spearhead the Pakistan Test side, while the T20I side will be led by Shaheen Shah Afridi. These leadership decisions mark a new era for Pakistan cricket, and fans are eager to witness the team’s performance under the guidance of Hafeez.

As the cricketing world awaits the outcomes of Hafeez’s coaching stint, the dynamics of the team and its performance will undoubtedly be closely scrutinised. The Australia tour will serve as a litmus test for both the newly appointed head coach and the team, with expectations running high among cricket enthusiasts.
