(Daily Point) — Italy is addressing labor shortages in various professions by offering up to 151,000 work permits to foreign nationals, as reported by Y-Axis on Monday.
Among these permits, 61,250 are allocated for non-seasonal workers, while 700 are reserved for self-employed foreign workers.
The allocation of work permits will follow a first-come, first-serve basis, meaning that applicants who apply earliest and fulfill all requirements will secure the permit.
The Italian government has specified 89,050 quota spots for two categories of non-seasonal workers.
Beginning March 18, non-seasonal workers from countries with bilateral or migration agreements with Italy can apply for work permits. Meanwhile, those from countries without such agreements may submit their applications starting March 21.
Italy is particularly seeking highly skilled workers in critical professions like doctors, nurses, and physiotherapists.
