(Web Desk) — At least 28 people lost their lives, and 20 others were injured after a bus carrying Pakistani pilgrims was involved in a tragic accident in Yazd, Iran, according to Iranian media reports on Wednesday.

The accident occurred when the bus, which was carrying 53 passengers, overturned and caught fire near the Taftan-Dehshir checkpoint. Emergency services, including police and rescue teams, quickly responded to the scene, transporting the victims to nearby hospitals.

In response to the incident, hospitals across the city have declared an emergency to provide immediate care for the injured.

However, Maulana Qamar Abbas Naqvi, a member of a peace committee, claimed that the death toll has risen to 35, with 15 others injured.
