DUBAI (Daily Point) — As 2023 bids its farewell, various locations across the United Arab Emirates are going all out to usher in the New Year with a bang.
The Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA) in Dubai has granted permission for fireworks displays at 32 different venues, scrutinizing plans for over 45 dazzling performances.
Among the standout locations for New Year’s Eve celebrations are:
- Burj Khalifa: The annual fireworks display at the world’s tallest structure promises to be a mesmerizing spectacle. Anticipated to be larger than ever, the event at Burj Khalifa will feature 15,682 pyrotechnic pieces and 325 strategic shooting points.
- Al-Seef: Along the waterfront promenade, festive fireworks will mark the countdown to midnight. The Al Seef Creek Festival, featuring live entertainment, deals, and the region’s tallest holiday tree, adds to the celebratory atmosphere.
- Dubai Festival City: Festival Bay’s 5-minute fireworks and IMAGINE performance will kick off the New Year, with tickets available for Dh100 for adults and Dh50 for children. Guests at Festive Bay can enjoy a 360-degree fireworks display synchronized with lasers, fountains, lighting, fire, and projection elements.
- Atlantis the Palm: The iconic Atlantis arch will be a sight to behold on December 31, accompanied by a performance by Sting. The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority has outlined marine routes for optimal viewing.
- Burj Al Arab: Against the backdrop of the Burj Al Arab, a spectacular fireworks display is expected to captivate locals and visitors alike. Bluewater Islands and The Beach-JBR offer stunning vantage points against the backdrop of Ain Dubai and the Dubai cityscape.
- Riverland: Dubai Parks and Resorts will host two family-friendly fireworks shows at Riverland on December 31, at 7 and 9 p.m. The Dh15 entry fee can be used for food and beverage purchases, and the location will also feature laser shows.
- Club Sport: Emirates Golf Club will host an exclusive NYE fireworks show for those willing to pay. Several hotels, including Bab Al Shams Desert Resort, Jumeirah Golf Club, Sofitel Dubai The Palm Resort, and others, have scheduled their own dazzling displays for the celebration.
