UK announces visa-free entry for these Islamic countries

UK

LONDON (Daily Point) — The United Kingdom (UK) has recently unveiled significant modifications to its visa policies, with the goal of facilitating easier entry for citizens from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations and Jordan.

In an official statement, the British government disclosed that these countries will transition to an electronic travel permit system by 2024.

Under this new system, residents of Gulf countries such as Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, the Emirates, and Jordan will no longer need visit visas to enter the UK. The shift towards an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system is designed to simplify the entry process, eliminating the requirement for obtaining a visit visa.

According to the official statement, the implementation of visa exemption is scheduled to commence after February 22, 2024. Under this updated system, tourists of all age groups will be required to electronically apply for a travel permit, which will be priced at £10 and issued for their travel purposes.

This strategic alteration in visa regulations aims to streamline entry procedures, promoting smoother and more accessible travel for citizens of these nations planning to visit the United Kingdom.
