(Daily Point) — The feud between actress Iffat Omar and writer-director Khalil ur Rehman Qamar escalated after Qamar made disparaging comments about feminists, particularly targeting Omar, labeling her as a “Do number Aurat” (a woman of questionable character).
During a recent interview with Suno TV, Omar addressed Qamar’s remarks, referring to him as a “Bitter man.” Initially, she refrained from mentioning Qamar, dismissing him as someone with narrow-minded views.
“I don’t even want to say his name after his derogatory remarks,” Omar stated. However, she emphasized that she never delved into Qamar’s personal life, and her response was prompted by his use of derogatory language against women on national television.
“If he [Qamar] has the courage, he should come forward and prove that I am a ‘do number aurat’ [disreputable woman],” she challenged.
Iffat Omar, who began her career as a model in 1990 and later excelled in the drama industry, has been vocal about her views on politics and has emerged as a staunch advocate for feminist ideas. The ongoing exchange highlights the tensions between individuals in the entertainment industry and their differing perspectives on gender issues.
