LAHORE (Daily Point) — The hashtag #BoycottCafeAylanto is gaining momentum on social media platform X following the arrest of Umar Dar, reportedly affiliated with the well-known restaurant in Lahore.

Cafe Aylanto, a renowned establishment in Lahore, has become embroiled in controversy after Umar Dar, the brother of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member Usman Dar, was allegedly apprehended at the restaurant. In a circulating video on platform X, Umar Dar’s daughter, Laiba Dar, claims that her father was “kidnapped” from the restaurant with the collaboration of its management.

In the video, Laiba asserts that Café Aylanto played a facilitating role for the police in her father’s arrest and earnestly implores the public to boycott the restaurant in response to this incident.

It’s noteworthy that Umar Dar had been arrested just a week prior from a different restaurant in Lahore. The police assert that Umar Dar is wanted in connection with five cases involving incitement and anti-state sloganeering, with nine cases pending against him since May.

In a video message, Umar Dar’s mother, Rehana Dar, makes the serious claim that her son was abducted to prevent him from contesting in the upcoming general election. The situation has sparked a social media movement, with the hashtag #BoycottCafeAylanto gaining traction as users express their concerns and opinions about the alleged involvement of the restaurant in Umar Dar’s arrest.
