(Daily point) — The body of Tania Singh, an Indian model, was discovered in her Surat apartment on Friday, prompting an investigation by local authorities.

The police have called upon Indian cricketer Abhishek Sharma for questioning, as reports suggest he was a close friend of the deceased.

Despite the absence of a suicide note at the scene, Singh was found hanging from a ceiling fan, raising suspicions surrounding the circumstances of her death. Surat police are diligently combing through evidence and addressing any discrepancies in the case to ensure a thorough investigation.

Abhishek Sharma, notable for his achievements in cricket, notably winning the Under 19 World Cup with India six years ago, has been linked to Singh as a friend. Beginning his professional career with Punjab in the Ranji Trophy during the 2017-18 season, Sharma’s journey progressed to the Delhi Capitals in the IPL before he found his stride with the Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2022, consistently delivering commendable performances for the franchise.

Assistant Commissioner of Surat Police revealed, “We have learned that Abhishek Sharma had a friendship with the deceased model.” Furthermore, it has been uncovered that Singh attempted to reach out to Sharma via message, though he did not respond.

While investigations continue, authorities have categorized the case as an “accidental death.” However, the investigation remains ongoing as officials work diligently to uncover the truth behind the tragic incident.
