Stuntman Logan Holladay, known for his work in “The Fall Guy,” recently made headlines by shattering a Guinness World Record previously held by Adam Kirley since 2006’s “Casino Royale,” as reported by Fox News.
At a special screening of the movie in Los Angeles on March 13, Holladay was honored with a Guinness World Record certificate by the film’s stars, Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt.
The record Holladay broke was for the most cannon rolls performed in a car, surpassing the previous benchmark of seven rolls set in the James Bond film. In an astonishing feat, Holladay achieved eight and a half rolls.
Universal Pictures, in a press release, described the cannon roll as a classic stunt dating back to the early days of cinema, involving a cannon-like apparatus fitted beneath a car that propels it into a series of rolls once triggered. Holladay executed this daring stunt behind a modified Jeep Grand Cherokee, equipped with an external fiberglass body.
Director David Leitch praised Holladay’s remarkable achievement, highlighting the skill and precision required to pull off such a stunt safely.
Reflecting on the momentous feat, Holladay shared, “After two practice runs and one real take, we had one car and one shot left. And after I hit the eight-and-a-half rolls, I had a pretty good feeling that I had broken the record because it felt like the spinning was never going to stop. It was a surreal moment, and I’m incredibly proud of what the team achieved.”
