(Daily Point) — Mano Animation Studios has recently announced through a social media post on Instagram that Pakistan’s inaugural hand-drawn animation, “The Glassworker,” is set to make its premiere in Pakistani cinemas this upcoming summer.

The studio expressed their excitement, emphasizing the film’s status as a significant artistic achievement and the first of its kind in Pakistan.

The Instagram post, made by Mano Animation Studios, highlighted the uniqueness of “The Glassworker” as the first Pakistani hand-drawn animated feature. It also revealed that Mandviwalla Entertainment, known for its involvement in “The Legend of Maula Jatt,” has signed on as the distributor for the film’s Pakistani release.

“The Glassworker,” crafted by Usman Riaz in collaboration with Mano Animation Studios, is set to captivate audiences in both Urdu and English. Nadeem Mandviwalla, Head of Mandviwalla Entertainment, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, hailing it as a groundbreaking moment for Pakistani cinema.

This cinematic venture represents a significant milestone for the Pakistani film industry, introducing a form of artistry previously unseen in the country. Mano Animation Studios, in partnership with Mandviwalla Entertainment, has gathered talent from various countries worldwide, including Malaysia, the Philippines, Japan, Peru, Argentina, Spain, the United States, and the United Kingdom, to bring “The Glassworker” to life.

The film, which follows the intertwined journeys of Vincent the Glassworker and Aliz, a young violinist, explores themes of resilience and perseverance in the face of life’s challenges. It promises to be a tale filled with surprises, promoting diversity within Pakistan’s animation and film sectors.

“The Glassworker” has already garnered attention on the global stage, having been showcased at prestigious events such as the Cannes Film Festival and France’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival in 2023. Indian producer Apoorva Bakshi, a member of the film’s team, commended the project, acknowledging the exceptional creativity of its creators.

With its blend of artistry and storytelling, “The Glassworker” has captured the hearts of audiences both locally and internationally. Its enchanting narrative resonated with Chinese viewers in 2023, further solidifying its status as a promising addition to the world of animation.
