TikTok removes 18 million videos in Pakistan within 3 months

(Daily Point) — During the last quarter of 2023, TikTok implemented proactive measures resulting in the removal of 176 million videos globally, equivalent to approximately 1.0% of all uploaded content on the platform.

Out of these, 128 million videos were detected and removed through automated technologies, while 8 million videos were reinstated following further review.

Specifically in Pakistan, TikTok addressed 18 million videos for violating its Community Guidelines, emphasizing its dedication to effectively combatting breaches. Furthermore, TikTok made significant efforts to combat spam accounts and related content, employing robust measures to prevent the spread of automated spam accounts.

Of note, around 95.3% of guideline-violating videos were removed within 24 hours of posting, with a commendable global proactive removal rate of 99.5% for the quarter. As part of its global initiative to protect younger users, TikTok also deactivated 19.84 million accounts suspected of belonging to individuals under the age of 13.
