The possibility looms that the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup trophy might make its way to Pakistan next month, according to media reports.

Expected to arrive by the end of next month, the trophy tour is currently in motion, with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the International Cricket Council (ICC) finalizing the tour dates.

The PCB aims to synchronize the trophy’s arrival with the Pakistan-New Zealand series, commencing on April 18. Notably, the New Zealand squad, dominated by young players due to the absence of key figures, has already landed in Pakistan.

Following its journey through the West Indies until April 20, the T20 World Cup trophy tour will then shift its focus to Pakistan. Reports suggest that the exact date for the trophy tour within Pakistan will be confirmed by next week.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan men’s T20I cricket team faces a series of challenges in preparation for the 2024 ICC T20 World Cup. The team is slated to compete in twelve T20Is, including matches against New Zealand (home), Ireland (away), and England (away), before embarking on the T20 mega-event in June.

Amidst these preparations, Babar Azam has been reinstated as the captain of the white-ball team, with plans for him to open the innings in the T20 format, marking a significant development for Pakistan cricket.
