(Web Desk) — Former Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Miftah Ismail has announced the launch of his new political party, Awaam Pakistan (AP), set to officially debut next month.
Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will serve as the party’s first convener, leading a group of prominent former PML-N members who are joining the new political platform. These members include Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan Abbasi, Javed Abbasi, Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri, Rana Zahid Tauseef, Zahid Binnouri, and Sardar Anwar Soomro. Additionally, the party has garnered support from former health minister Dr. Zafar Mirza and ex-MQM Member of National Assembly (MNA) Sheikh Salahuddin.
The official launch event for Awaam Pakistan is scheduled for July 6 in Islamabad. The formation of this new party comes in the wake of a series of disagreements between Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and the current PML-N leadership, which eventually led to the decision to create a new political entity. Party registration documents were submitted in April, marking the start of this new political journey.
Miftah Ismail and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi have emphasized the need for a new political direction, with a focus on addressing the needs and aspirations of the common people. Awaam Pakistan aims to tackle various national issues with a promise of positive change and effective governance.
As the launch date approaches, anticipation is growing regarding the party’s plans and policies. Many are curious about how Awaam Pakistan will differentiate itself from existing political parties and what specific strategies it will employ to address the country’s challenges.
The formation of Awaam Pakistan signifies a significant development in Pakistan’s political landscape. With notable leaders from diverse backgrounds coming together, the party is expected to make a substantial impact. As it prepares for its official debut, Awaam Pakistan positions itself as a new voice for the people, committed to bringing fresh perspectives and solutions to the forefront of national politics.
