(Web Desk Monitoring) — Police arrested PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and spokesperson Rauf Hassan in Islamabad on Monday.
According to the local media reports, the arrests took place at the party secretariat in sector G-8, where a large police contingent, including women officers, surrounded the premises and seized records.
Details of the charges against the detained PTI leaders have not yet been disclosed, and authorities have not commented on the specifics of the raid or the evidence leading to the arrests.
The PTI condemned the arrests, labeling them as politically motivated. The opposition party criticized the law enforcement officers, accusing them of disregarding the law. In a statement on the X platform, the PTI said, “It’s shameful how Islamabad police continue to completely mock and disregard every law in this country. Law of the jungle is reigning over Pakistan!”
Additionally, a journalist who recorded a video of the raid had his phone confiscated by the police.
