(Web Desk Monitoring) — The Excise Department has implemented a mandatory online verification process for the documents of imported vehicles to safeguard the integrity of vehicle registrations and combat the use of counterfeit paperwork.

According to this new policy, the registration of imported vehicles in Lahore and the rest of Punjab is now prohibited without prior online verification of their documents.

An official letter has been sent to customs authorities, requesting access to their online verification systems for imported vehicle documentation.

This collaboration aims to streamline the registration process, ensuring that only vehicles with genuine paperwork are approved for registration.

Customs officials further maintained that vehicles purchased through auctions will also require verification before registration, as a measure to curb the illegal registration of vehicles with forged documents.
