(Web Desk) — Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has condemned the recent surge in terrorist attacks in Balochistan, vowing a determined effort to eradicate terrorism and rejecting any negotiations with those who threaten the state.
In a critical cabinet meeting, Sharif expressed grave concern over the spike in terrorist activities, particularly the recent assaults in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. The attacks have resulted in over 50 deaths, including both civilians and law enforcement personnel. Sharif pledged that the sacrifices of security forces will not be in vain and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fighting terrorism.
Sharif emphasized that these attacks aim to destabilize Pakistan and create discord between Pakistan and China. He stressed the need for national unity and promised to allocate all necessary resources to the Pakistan Armed Forces to combat terrorism. The Prime Minister assured that the government will not rest until terrorism is eradicated, highlighting the unity between the Pakistani Army and the nation in this battle.
In his statement, Sharif pointed out the involvement of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in the recent violence and noted that the group operates from Afghanistan. He confirmed that Pakistan has raised the issue with Afghanistan and is taking decisive action against the terrorists.
The Prime Minister also underlined the importance of cooperation with provincial governments to tackle terrorism and ensure the safety of all citizens. He stressed the need to understand and address the motives behind those seeking to destabilize Pakistan. While advocating for dialogue with those who support the Pakistani constitution and flag, Sharif made it clear that there will be no negotiations with enemies of the state. He concluded by urging that the recent attacks serve as a wake-up call and reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to overcome these challenges.
