LAHORE (Daily Point) — Arshad Nadeem, Pakistan’s Olympic gold medalist, has made it clear that his journey in sports is far from over.

In a recent interview with Anchorperson Farrukh Warraich on the program Jawab Do, the record-setting athlete announced his plans to compete in the 2028-29 Olympics, expressing his determination to win more medals for the country.

“My game has just started, and I will continue to represent Pakistan at the highest level,” said Arshad, who earned national acclaim for his performance in the Paris Olympics. He emphasized the deep gratitude he feels towards the nation for the respect and honor he has received.

In a lighter moment during the interview, Arshad humorously mentioned a conversation with his father-in-law, who owns a significant amount of land. He joked that instead of receiving a buffalo as a gift, he would have preferred four or five acres of land, but added, “If it’s buffalo, then it should be pure buffalo milk!”

Reflecting on his athletic career, Arshad shared that he began his journey in 2012, initially playing cricket and kabaddi before fully committing to athletics. He also played All-Punjab cricket before switching to track and field. Despite considering retirement after the Tokyo Olympics due to a lack of recognition, his resolve was strengthened after winning a medal at the Asian Games, the first for Pakistan in 29 years.

Arshad also revealed that after his success in Tokyo, he bought a modest 4-square-meter house in Mianchano City, where he enjoys spending time in his village. His focus now remains on future competitions, with his sights set on bringing more glory to Pakistan.
