KARACHI (Daily Point) — Authorities successfully averted a potential disaster when a five-kilogram improvised explosive device (IED) was discovered on the Awami Express train arriving from Peshawar on Saturday in Karachi.

The discovered bag contained a time bomb connected to a battery, with the explosive substance weighing approximately two and a half kilograms. Additionally, an electric detonator with a mortar container was found attached to the device. In response to this alarming situation, a substantial deployment of law enforcement agencies and Rangers swiftly cordoned off the area to ensure the safety of the public.

Following the discovery, all materials, including the improvised explosive device, were handed over to the police, as confirmed by the clearance certificate. This incident underscores the ongoing importance of vigilance and effective security measures to safeguard against potential threats to public safety.
