(Daily Point) — Actress Suhani Bhatnagar, known for her role as young Babita Kumari Phogat in the acclaimed film ‘Dangal’, passed away on February 16 in Delhi at the age of 19 due to complications arising from medication.
A statement from Aamir Khan Productions confirmed the tragic news, expressing deep sorrow over her untimely demise.
Bhatnagar had sustained a leg fracture and was undergoing medical treatment when she developed adverse effects from the medication. A note shared by Aamir Khan Productions on Instagram mourned her loss, highlighting her talent and contribution to the film.
According to her father, Puneet Bhatnagar, Suhani suffered from a rare condition called dermatomyositis, which led to muscle weakness and skin rash. Treatment involved steroids, which compromised her immune system. Subsequently, she contracted an infection that affected her lungs, causing difficulty in breathing due to the accumulation of fluid.
The 19-year-old actress, alongside Aamir Khan, Sakshi Tanwar, and Zaira Wasim, delivered a memorable performance in ‘Dangal’, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of audiences. Her passing is a significant loss to the film industry, and condolences pour in for her grieving family during this difficult time.
