Faiz Hameed summoned by Faizabad sit-in investigation commission

Faiz-Hameed

RAWALPINDI The Faizabad sit-in probe commission has reportedly issued another summons to Lt. General (retired) Faiz Hameed.

This report was published by private TV channel ARY. The sit-in organized by Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) at Faizabad interchange on November 8, 2017, protested amendments in the Election Bill 2017, particularly the change from “oath” to “declaration.”

Insiders familiar with the matter indicated that the summons for Faiz Hameed was dispatched through the defense ministry. The former ISI chief has been instructed to present himself before the probe commission to provide a statement regarding the Faizabad sit-in case.

This marks the second instance of Faiz Hameed being called by the Faizabad sit-in probe commission. In a recent hearing related to the Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui case, challenging his removal as an IHC judge, the Supreme Court of Pakistan also issued notices to the former ISI chief Lt. General (r) Faiz Hameed. Similar notices were extended to former IHC Chief Justice Anwar Khan Kasi, former Supreme Court Registrar Arbab Muhammad Arif, and retired Brigadier Irfan Ramay.
