(Web Desk Monitoring) — Pakistani actor Fawad Khan has shared his enduring friendships with several Indian collaborators, despite geopolitical tensions that have kept him away from Bollywood since 2016.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Fawad discussed his continued bond with actors like Ranbir Kapoor, his co-star from the 2016 film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, and filmmakers Karan Johar and Shakun Batra.
“We often chat or talk on the phone, so I’ve kept in touch and maintained a good relationship with the Kapoor family,” Fawad told the Indian media outlet.
“There’s still a lot of love and respect with Karan and Shakun as well. So, there are friendships. I also chat with some Indian producer friends occasionally. We plan to meet somewhere… So, we stay in touch. The relationships are cordial, and there’s mutual respect.”
Despite not being part of Bollywood projects currently, Fawad expressed interest in watching Ranbir Kapoor’s recent controversial hit, Animal, now streaming on Netflix. “I haven’t watched it yet, but I intend to. It’s on Netflix, but I haven’t had the chance. Everyone has been recommending it to me,” he mentioned.
Next up for the actor is Barzakh, an upcoming Zee Zindagi original series directed by Asim Abbasi, reuniting him with his Zindagi Gulzar Hai co-star Sanam Saeed.
Additionally, after an eight-year break, the Kapoor and Sons star is set to return to Bollywood with a romantic comedy alongside Vaani Kapoor. Directed by Aarti Bagdi, known for the film Bombairiya, the project has sparked considerable interest online, with production details closely guarded by the producers.
