(Web Desk Monitoring) — Lieutenant General (retd) Faiz Hameed, the former chief of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), has been detained by the army, according to a statement released by the military’s media wing on Monday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that this action follows the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s orders, leading to a comprehensive court of inquiry conducted by the Pakistan Army. The inquiry aimed to verify the allegations made against Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed in the Top City Case.
The ISPR stated that disciplinary measures are being taken under the Pakistan Army Act due to multiple violations committed by Hameed after his retirement. These infractions include instances that breach the regulations of the Pakistan Army Act.
The ISPR confirmed that the Field General Court Martial process has begun, resulting in Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed being placed in military custody.
