The iconic game show ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’ is gearing up for its highly anticipated comeback with an all-new season.

ABC Network has officially given the green light for the upcoming season, scheduled to debut on July 10, as revealed by The Hollywood Reporter.

Jimmy Kimmel is set to return as the host, marking the show’s 25th anniversary. This season, the format will showcase pairs of celebrities competing to win substantial amounts of money, with prizes reaching up to $1 million, all in support of charities close to their hearts.

Originally adapted from a British game show and hosted by Regis Philbin, ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’ became a cultural phenomenon upon its premiere on ABC. It amassed a massive viewership, with one episode in May 2000 peaking at 35.9 million viewers, and aired up to five nights a week during its initial run.

In the meantime, the Indian adaptation of ‘Who Wants to Be A Millionaire’, hosted by megastar Amitabh Bachchan, is also gearing up for its 16th season this year. Bachchan has already begun filming for the show, as confirmed in his blog post, where he shared glimpses from the set and discussed the rigorous schedule, which includes working from 9 to 5 without a conventional break, and even having lunch in his car.
