(Web Desk Monitoring) — Indian actress Sanjeeda Sheikh had an impressive start to the year with two back-to-back releases.
She began with “Fighter,” which premiered in January, featuring Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Anil Kapoor. Following that, her latest project, “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar,” directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, was released.
“Heeramandi” started streaming on Netflix from May 1 and boasted a star-studded cast, including Manisha Koirala, Sharmin Seygal, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, and Taaha Shah. The series received an outstanding response from audiences, and Sanjeeda, who portrayed the character Waheeda, was highly praised for her performance.
Additionally, the announcement of the second season of “Heeramandi” on Monday has further heightened audience excitement.
In a recent interview, Sanjeeda Sheikh recounted a disturbing incident that occurred at a nightclub. She shared that she was harassed by a woman who unexpectedly touched her chest and left without any explanation.
Recalling the incident, Sanjeeda said, “I remember one incident very vividly, but it was by a woman. I was in a nightclub. One woman was passing by and she just touched my breast out of the blue and then left. I was really taken aback, like what just happened. We hear about men smacking you on the back and misbehaving, but women can be just as bad.”
She emphasized that wrongful actions are not tied to gender but to individual choices. “If you are headed down the wrong path, you are going on it regardless. It has nothing to do with men or women; whatever is wrong is wrong. If a woman has done wrong to you, tell her. According to me, playing the victimhood card is very unpleasant,” Sanjeeda added.
