Imran seeks court intervention to prevent transfer to military custody

Imran Khan

(Web Desk) — Imran Khan, founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has approached the Lahore High Court seeking protection against possible transfer to army custody in cases related to the May 9 incidents.

Khan, through his lawyer Uzair Karamat Bhandari, filed a petition in the High Court, naming the federal government and the Inspector Generals of Police of all four provinces as respondents.

In his petition, Khan expressed concerns about the possibility of being handed over to the army in connection with the May 9 cases. He argued that any potential arrest should be conducted by civilian courts and requested the court to issue an order preventing his transfer to military custody.
