ISLAMABAD (Daily Point) — The Islamabad police have revamped the Digital License Management System (DLMS) to streamline data on suspects and individuals with e-challan defaults.

The Safe City Command and Control Center recently furnished the Police Khidmat Center and traffic offices with a list of 145 violators. Consequently, 82 individuals settled a total of 995 e-challans at the traffic offices, while the licenses of the remaining 63 were suspended as a strict measure.

The fully operational Digital License Management System underwent an update earlier this week, as announced by the Chief Police Officer (CPO) Safe City/Traffic. Traffic rules violators are strongly advised to settle their e-challans promptly to avoid legal consequences.

Utilizing Safe City cameras and the recently introduced Brief Cam alerts, authorities identify vehicles of e-challan violators, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

In response to the directives of Chief Traffic Officer Muhammad Sarfraz Virk, the Islamabad police recently initiated a crackdown against traffic law violators. According to Virk, there has been a notable decrease of 38,000 cases in traffic violations in the federal capital during October and November 2023, compared to the corresponding period last year. This achievement is attributed to heightened fines and the registration of cases against serious violations, particularly those involving underage drivers and one-way traffic violators.
