DUBAI (Daily Point) — In mid-January 2024, flight ticket prices to the United Arab Emirates are anticipated to significantly decrease from various global locations, as reported by Gulf News.

Citing insider information, the news outlet suggests that even on longer routes, fares will experience a decline, providing an opportunity for last-minute travelers to benefit from reduced prices.

Malou Prado, CEO of Dubai-based MPQ Travel and Tourism, highlights that the most substantial fare reductions on long-haul routes from the UAE are expected in the second and third weeks of January.

Due to heightened demand for Dubai flights from large tour groups in recent times, securing last-minute bookings has been challenging for travelers. For instance, economy class fares from London Heathrow Airport to Dubai International are projected to decrease by AED2,410 from January 15 to 29, compared to the December peak of AED5,135 for one-way travel. Similarly, return economy class rates from New York to Dubai are expected to drop to Dh3,519 from Dh6,487 in the last week of December.

Furthermore, the airfare from San Francisco to Dubai is anticipated to be Dh5,943, down from Dh7,600 in December, while flights from Boston will cost Dh4,276. Fares to European destinations are predicted to range from Dh2,722 (Paris) to Dh3,005 (Amsterdam).

The report indicates that airfares from Manila to Dubai are expected to decrease to Dh2,000 by the end of January, compared to Dh5,000 in the fourth quarter of 2023. Currently, both inbound and outbound ticket rates in the UAE are reportedly 25 to 50 percent higher than those in September and the first half of October.

The winter season has witnessed high travel demand, benefiting both local and international airlines. The International Air Travel Association predicts that around 4.7 billion people will travel in 2024.
