ISLAMABAD (Daily Point) — The Islamabad Police has introduced a mandatory three-day weapons training course for individuals seeking gun licenses.

As per the latest information, the capital’s police force has determined that individuals applying for gun licenses must undergo a comprehensive three-day training program. Licenses will only be issued upon successful completion of this training.

Inspector General (IG) Islamabad, Dr. Akbar Nasir, announced that police officials will conduct the training sessions at the federal police’s shooting range.

To obtain a gun license in Islamabad, applicants are advised to download the application form from the ICT Administration’s website and duly fill it out. The application process involves visiting the Citizen Facilitation Center, ICT Administration, located in G-11/4, Mauve Area, Islamabad. Applicants should acquire a token, wait for their turn, submit all required documents to obtain a receipt, and collect the license on the designated date mentioned on the receipt.

The necessary documents for applying for a gun license include three passport-size photographs, three attested copies of the CNIC, three attested copies of the NTN certificate, proof of residence in Islamabad, and a Departmental NOC in the case of government servants.

It’s important to note that earlier in August of this year, Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti had implemented a ban on the issuance of new arms licenses.
