(Daily Point) — Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), convened a meeting with all Pakistani players engaged in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) in a gathering held at a local hotel.
With unwavering determination, Mr. Naqvi delivered a powerful message to the players, underlining the utmost importance of meritocracy in the selection process.
Throughout the assembly, he personally greeted each player, fostering a sense of solidarity and camaraderie among the team members.
Addressing the players, the PCB chairman emphasized the imperative of prioritizing merit above any semblance of favoritism or external influence in team selection.
He stressed that player selection would be exclusively based on performance and merit, declaring every player present as a potential candidate for the national team. He urged the players to place Pakistan’s interests at the forefront and emphasized the significance of unity and coherence among teammates.
Naqvi reiterated that financial considerations should not overshadow national pride and team spirit. He reassured players of potential enhancements to their contracts, showcasing the board’s dedication to investing in player welfare and development.
Furthermore, the PCB chairman underscored the importance of fitness and announced plans for a training camp at Kakul from the 25th to the 8th. He assured players of his steadfast support and an open-door policy, encouraging them to reach out whenever necessary.
Regarding infrastructure development, Naqvi outlined strategies to augment cricket academies and upgrade stadiums nationwide. He emphasized the PCB’s commitment to investing in player facilities and welfare.
