ISLAMABAD (Daily Point) — Top political leaders, including caretaker Prime Minister (PM) Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, highlighted the importance of unity for democratic continuity, peaceful coexistence, and the rule of law on the 147th birthday of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
The day dawned with gun salutes in the federal and provincial capitals after which a graceful changing of the guard’s ceremony was held at the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi. Officials from the higher ranks laid the wreath at Quaid’s Mazar and offer Fatiha at the mausoleum.
Official ceremonies and events are scheduled throughout the country to pay tribute to Quaid’s life, political struggles, and significant role in the creation of Pakistan.
PM Kakar stressed Quaid-e-Azam’s role in uniting Muslims for the creation of a separate state. He urged the nation to recommit to unity, faith, and discipline, the guiding principles set by Jinnah, and underscored the importance of interfaith harmony.
Former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed the goal of building the Pakistan envisioned by Quaid, while former President Asif Ali Zardari noted that the national anthem reflected Jinnah’s philosophy of people as the source of power.
