Police arrest ‘fake Pir’ on charges of sexually assaulting teenage girl

(APP) — Chak Jhumra police have arrested a fake Pir on charges of sexually assaulting a teenage girl.

According to a police spokesperson, a 16-year-old girl, who worked in the house of Pir Shakeel at Chak No.188-RB Nallaywala, was subjected to sexual assault for over four months and was detained illegally in the house.

The girl managed to escape and informed her parents, who then approached the police. A medical report confirmed her pregnancy as a result of the rape.

Upon receiving the information, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz took serious notice. Hina Parvaiz Butt, Chairperson of the Punjab Women Protection Authority, visited the Women Gender-Based Violence Unit (WGBVU) at Women Police Station Faisalabad and assured the girl and her parents of justice.

The police conducted raids and arrested the accused. An investigation is ongoing, the spokesman added.
