(Web Desk) — The recent incident involving Pakistani actor Nimra Khan, initially reported as an attempted abduction, has been identified as a “case of harassment,” according to the police. The incident, which raised serious concerns about women’s safety, came to light earlier this month.
Khan, visibly shaken, shared a video statement with her fans and followers, describing how she narrowly escaped what she believed to be a kidnapping attempt outside a hotel in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase VIII. The actor recounted the traumatic experience on her Instagram, calling it a “bid to kidnap” her.
Despite not filing an official complaint, the police took notice and launched an investigation after the incident went viral online. In a recent update, the Darakhshan sub-divisional police officer clarified that the case was one of harassment, not kidnapping, and that the investigation revealed it involved a single individual rather than a group of people as initially thought.
The officer also mentioned that two similar cases had been reported in Karachi recently, with the suspects in both cases now under arrest.
Nimra Khan expressed her satisfaction with the progress made by the police in their investigation. In a video released a few days before Independence Day, the ‘Khoob Seerat’ actor questioned the safety of women in the country, sharing her ordeal where she claimed that “three men” attempted to abduct her at gunpoint while she was waiting for her car outside the hotel.
