LAHORE (Daily Point) — The interim government of Punjab has decided to extend the winter holidays for both private and public schools by an additional nine days.

Consequently, all educational institutions will remain closed until January 9, with the reopening scheduled for January 10.

Interim Education Minister Mansoor Qadir, commenting on the extension, stated, “The decision to prolong the holidays is in response to the escalating cold weather prevailing across the province, as directed by the Punjab caretaker chief minister.”

Earlier this month, CM Naqvi had initially announced the winter vacation schedule for schools in Punjab. The winter break, which was originally slated to commence from December 18, 2023, will now extend until January 1, 2024, providing students with an extended period of time off due to the improved environmental conditions.
