Release date for Samsung Galaxy S24 leaked

(Daily Point) — Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series launch date appears to have been leaked, with reports suggesting that the tech giant will host its next Galaxy Unpacked event on January 17 in the US.

This date slightly contradicts a previous tipster leak of January 18, which might be attributed to the time zone difference between the US and China.

The motivation behind this early launch is purportedly to boost Samsung’s revenue, as semiconductor sales have been experiencing a slowdown.

In addition to the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung is set to release the Galaxy S23 FE in South Korea on December 1, priced at €570. This marks the first time a Galaxy S FE model has been available in Samsung’s home market since 2020.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, boasting boosted clock speeds for enhanced performance. Recent Geekbench listings revealed a prime core frequency of 3.4 GHz, while the remaining cluster remained the same as before at 3.15 GHz. Two cores run at 2.96 GHz, and two at 2.27 GHz. The listing also mentioned a variant with 12 GB of RAM and One UI 6.1 OS out of the box, with the possibility of an overclocked GPU still pending confirmation.

Furthermore, Samsung plans to elevate the gaming performance of the S24 series by adding support for AMD FSR (FidelityFX Super Resolution). This upscaling technique enhances FPS in games without overloading the hardware and is commonly featured on AMD’s latest gaming GPUs. It’s worth noting that FSR also supports older and rival Nvidia graphics cards. This enhancement suggests that the Galaxy S24 Ultra may be capable of running PC-level games, potentially rivaling the capabilities of the iPhone 15.
