(Web Desk Monitoring) — Saudi Arabia has initiated strict penalties for individuals who breach regulations regarding the Hajj pilgrimage without the necessary permit.
According to the Saudi media, the enforcement, spanning Makkah, central areas, holy sites, and transportation hubs like the Haramain train station, will be active from June 2 to June 20, 2024, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Violators, including citizens, residents, and visitors, face a fine of 10,000 Saudi Riyals (SR) within the designated zones without a Hajj permit. Repeat offenders will incur double fines. Those caught aiding violators may face imprisonment of up to six months and a fine of up to SR50,000, with their vehicles subject to confiscation by the courts.
Residents found guilty will be deported after serving their sentence, with a ban on re-entry for a specified period. This stringent enforcement underscores the Saudi government’s commitment to upholding Hajj regulations and maintaining order during the pilgrimage.
