(Daily Point) — Former cricket captain Shahid Khan Afridi has labeled YouTuber Imran Riaz Khan as a “troll” following criticism from Khan regarding the current political landscape.

Afridi took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his sentiments, highlighting the challenge of distinguishing truth from falsehood amidst the flurry of likes, retweets, and views. He emphasized the importance of research in journalism to discern facts accurately.

Afridi’s tweet read, “Slander is the easiest thing. I maintain that Imran bhai (Imran Khan) was my role model, inspiring me to pursue cricket. Falsehoods and propaganda may sway opinions, but they won’t alter my allegiance to Tehreek-e-Insaaf or Imran Khan.”

Previously, journalist Imran Riaz Khan had criticized Afridi, alleging that Afridi endorsed those accused of electoral fraud. Khan further suggested that Afridi’s focus seemed diverted from his cricketing legacy to other pursuits.

Responding to such critiques, Afridi stressed the need for positive endeavors and urged detractors to channel their energies constructively. He reaffirmed his willingness to engage with the media and utilize his X (formerly Twitter) platform for communication.

The exchange underscores the evolving dynamics of public discourse in the digital age, where individuals like Afridi navigate the intersection of sports, politics, and social media scrutiny.
