LAHORE (Daily Point) – Senior journalist and analyst Habib Akram, predicted that Shehbaz Sharif-led government is facing an uncertain future and may be dissolved soon. He said while talking during a Farrukh Warraich Show.

During the show, the senior journalists said that the appointment of ad hoc judges is a deviation from democratic principles and the constitution. He also noted that after the Supreme Court’s decision on July 12, the government should have accepted and implemented the ruling, including the allocation of specific seats to the PML-N. He added that other parties do not have the right to oppose this decision.

“The 13-member Supreme Court bench ruled in favor of PTI by a majority of 11-2, and this decision should be respected and enacted.” he maintained. He further criticized the appointment of ad hoc judges, stating it would be a stain on the reputation of Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Isa and the current government, as the constitution does not permit such appointments.

“The appointment of ad hoc judges is for three years, during which their privileges will be on par with those of other Supreme Court judges. The government is making these appointments to achieve its objectives. The Shehbaz Sharif government has shown its weakness by appointing ad hoc judges and putting pressure on Pakistan’s largest party, indicating that it cannot compete with the PTI in the political arena and may soon collapse. Such actions suggest the government’s instability,” Journalist Habib maintained.

“Historically, banning political parties has not led to their end. Parties like the Awami League, Jamaat-e-Islami, and National Awami Party were banned in the past, yet none of them ceased to exist,” the journalist added.
