LAHORE (Daily Point) — In a key breakthrough in the investigation of the murder case of Ameer Balaj Tipu – scion of Arif Amir widely known as Tipu Truckanwala – startling revelations have surfaced regarding the shooter, Muzaffar, who perpetrated the killing of Ameer Balaj.
According to sources within the police department, the shooter was close to Teefi Butt. The sources said that Muzaffar has been positively identified in wedding photographs from Teefi Butt’s son, Tazeem’s wedding. Muzaffar allegedly attended the event as a gunman. Further investigations into Muzaffar’s role in the murder are underway, with suspicions arising that he might have been deliberately eliminated at the crime scene.
The police said that the investigation into the shooting of Muzaffar immediately after the murder is ongoing. “It is suspected that Muzaffar was deliberately killed on the spot,” the police added. Police further said that the efforts are now intensified to bring Bilawal back from abroad for further questioning in connection to the case.
Earlier, the prime accused, Malik Sohail, was apprehended by the Organized Crime Unit. It was revealed that Sohail facilitated a meeting between Ahsan Shah and Teefi Butt. Sources indicate that Ahsan Shah concealed his identity during these meetings, suggesting a deliberate attempt to obscure his involvement. Malik Sohail took Ahsan Shah from Kalma Chowk to Teefi Butt’s house. Ahsan Shah switched off his mobile phone while going to the first meeting in January.
According to sources, Teefi Butt had 7 to 8 meetings with Ahsan Shah. Malik Sohail was with Ahsan Shah in 4 to 5 meetings with Butt. Following investigations, Sohail was presented before the Judicial Magistrate’s Court, where the police requested a 5-day physical remand for further inquiry into his role and the identification of other potential accomplices.
Furthermore, Ahsan Shah, a close friend of the victim, was involved in the murder. Shah stands accused of providing information leading to Balaj’s demise. On March 18, Shah was brought before Judicial Magistrate Sadaf Batul, where a 7-day physical remand was granted to facilitate continued investigation.
It was alleged that Ahsan Shah received money from the named accused for the informant. Ahsan Shah is also accused of having contacts with the accused named in the case. It was requested by the police that further investigation is required from the accused Ahsan Shah. The court accepted the request of the police and sent the accused Ahsan Shah to police custody till March 23.
Confessional statements have also emerged from seven suspects in police custody, shedding light on the events surrounding Balaj’s murder. It has been revealed that two shooters and three facilitators were involved in the fatal attack on Balaj. However, the fate of Muzaffar, the shooter, remains uncertain.
In a recent development, Ahsan Shah, along with the shooter Ayaz, facilitator Bilal, and the vehicle’s driver, Hasnain, have been detained.
