(Web Desk Monitoring) — Actors Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal are set to marry on June 23 through a civil ceremony, opting out of traditional Hindu or Muslim customs.
According to various reports, the couple will wed under the Special Marriage Act, 1954, having already submitted the required one-month notice to the marriage registrar. It is speculated that the wedding will take place at the groom’s residence, where the registrar will handle the legal formalities.
In an interview with the Free Press Journal, Zaheer’s father stated, “The marriage will not involve Hindu or Muslim rituals. It will strictly be a civil ceremony.” He also refuted rumors that Sonakshi would convert to Islam for the marriage.
“She is not converting, that’s definite. Their union is based on love and has no religious implications. I believe in humanity. God is known as Bhagwan to Hindus and Allah to Muslims, but ultimately, we are all human beings. My blessings are with Zaheer and Sonakshi,” he added.
Following the civil ceremony, the couple plans to celebrate with a party at Bastian, a popular restaurant in Mumbai favored by celebrities.
Recently, Sonakshi and Zaheer hosted a pre-wedding party for their close friends and family, including Sonakshi’s parents, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha. This festive gathering served as a prelude to the upcoming celebrations, reflecting the couple’s joy and the support of their loved ones.
