LAHORE (Daily Point) — In a significant development on Friday, the distinguished social worker Raheel Lakhani officially joined the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP).
Lakhani assumed the role of IPP joint secretary for the Karachi division, marking a noteworthy addition to the party’s leadership.
Accompanying Lakhani in bolstering the party’s ranks is Umer Farooq, who also joined IPP and was appointed as the vice president of the IPP Sindh chapter. The IPP general secretary expressed warm greetings to both leaders, emphasizing their valuable contributions to the party.
Adding to the momentum, veteran politician Humayun Akhtar Khan recently became a part of IPP earlier this month. Speaking at a press conference alongside IPP patron-in-chief Jahangir Khan Tareen and IPP President Abdul Aleem Khan, Humayun shared, “I have shared a longstanding association with my IPP friends, and destiny has brought us together once again.”
Reflecting on his departure from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) after the events of May 9, Humayun recalled, “Following the vandalism on May 9, where military installations were attacked, I decided to part ways with PTI. The higher power has now united us under the IPP banner.”
These recent affiliations underscore the growing strength and appeal of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party, as it continues to attract seasoned leaders from various backgrounds.
