(Web Desk) — Princess Sheikha Mahra, daughter of UAE Vice President and Deputy PM Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Zoe Grigorakos, has publicly announced her divorce from her husband via Instagram.

In a surprising post on Tuesday, she addressed her husband, stating, “Dear Husband, as you are occupied with other companions, I hereby declare our divorce. I divorce you, I divorce you, and I divorce you. Take care. Your ex-wife.” Following the announcement, all shared photos with her husband have been removed from her social media, and the two have unfollowed each other.

The sudden news has left fans and social media users in shock, especially since only a few weeks ago, Princess Sheikha Mahra shared a post cherishing moments with their daughter.

There is speculation among users, with some suggesting that her Instagram account may have been hacked, while others point out that traditionally, the right to divorce in Islamic law rests with the husband, and a wife can only seek “khula” (a divorce initiated by the wife).

Princess Sheikha Mahra married Sheikh Mana Al Maktoum on April 5, 2023. The couple welcomed their first daughter in May of this year.
