ISLAMABAD (Daily Point) — The inauguration of the first British café in Islamabad was marked by British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott.

The event, which featured complimentary coffee, brownies, cakes, and cookies for visitors, celebrated the opening of Costa Coffee, the initial establishment in Islamabad and the third in Lahore.

During the media interaction, the British envoy expressed her delight at being present for the launch and highlighted Costa Coffee’s British roots, with its first branch opening in the UK 40 years ago. Marriott shared that Costa Coffee boasts two and a half thousand branches in the UK, with 59 operated by Gerrys.

Wearing the café’s mufflers and seated in front of the illuminated logo, Marriott emphasized the cafe’s contribution to bringing exceptional coffee and food to Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi. She personally enjoyed a cup of coffee and some delicious chocolate brownies.

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Marriott toured the café, engaging with the staff and commending both the franchise’s interior and the services provided by its employees. The inauguration marked a significant step in introducing a popular British coffee brand to the Pakistani market.
