(Web Desk Monitoring) — In 2024, the number of US visa applications from Pakistan is anticipated to reach unprecedented levels, with over 10,000 applications being processed each month by the US consulates in Karachi and Islamabad.
This surge follows a notable year in 2023, during which the US embassy in Islamabad and the Karachi consulate issued a record number of visas. Current trends suggest that the numbers for this year will exceed those of the previous year.
To better accommodate the increasing demand, the US embassy has significantly reduced the wait time for visa appointments. Previously, applicants faced a 440-day wait, but this has now been reduced to 230 days. This improvement is designed to facilitate a smoother and faster processing experience for applicants.
For those who have already submitted their visa applications, a new system has been implemented that allows them to review their cases via email. This system enables applicants to easily track the status of their applications. Each application undergoes a thorough and fair review on an individual basis, with decisions typically made within three to four days after the interview, providing timely responses to applicants.
The rise in visa applications from Pakistan highlights the increasing interest and need for travel between the two countries. The US consulates and embassy are committed to supporting this demand by streamlining processes and reducing waiting times, thereby making it more efficient for Pakistani applicants to obtain US visas.
