(Web Desk) — A video featuring Sahil Adeem and Khalilur Rehman behaving disrespectfully towards a woman during a private TV channel show ‘Muqalma‘ has sparked widespread outrage after going viral.
The incident unfolded when the woman confronted Sahil Adeem about his controversial statement claiming that 95% of women are illiterate. She demanded an apology from him, triggering a heated exchange. Khalilur Rehman also became visibly agitated during the discussion with the show’s host. The woman reiterated her request for Adeem to apologize for his derogatory remarks about women.
Rather than addressing her concerns, Adeem sidestepped the issue by questioning her understanding of the term “Taghut,” which he defined as Islam’s greatest sin. The woman emphasized that the conversation focused on women’s rights, not religious matters.
Adeem persisted in his stance, asserting that in Islam, it is a duty to call out ignorance or lack of knowledge. When pressed for evidence to support his claim, he referenced a hadith stating that those who possess knowledge and those who do not are not equal in Islam.
The woman continued to demand an apology, urging Adeem to stay on topic. Instead, Adeem sarcastically apologized, labeling her as “ignorant.” The situation escalated when Khalilur Rehman intervened aggressively, criticizing the woman’s demeanor and insisting that the host remove her microphone.
The video rapidly spread across social media platforms, drawing praise for the woman’s advocacy for women’s rights while condemning Adeem and Rehman for their behavior. Pakistani actress Meera Sethi voiced support for the woman’s courage, sharing the video on Instagram.
In response to the backlash, Sahil Adeem took to social media, sarcastically commending those who exploited his name and image for personal gain and suggesting that they direct their focus towards their own leaders to secure their jobs.
