LAHORE (Daily Point) – WhatsApp has introduced a new update via its TestFlight beta program, aiming to enhance user experience by allowing users to pin messages in both individual and group chats.
This new feature is set to improve the overall functionality of the Meta-owned platform by making it easier for users to find specific messages in cluttered chat threads.
According to reports from WABeta info, the message pinning feature has been rolled out on the TestFlight app and is now being introduced for iOS users as well. While some users have been able to experience this option by downloading the latest version from the App Store, it will take some time before the feature becomes widely accessible.
The message pinning feature allows users to select a message and pin it to the top of their chats. When choosing to pin a message, an option pops up, asking the user to specify the duration for which the message should be pinned. Users can select from options such as 24 hours, seven days, or 30 days, giving them flexibility in managing their pinned messages.
The practicality of this feature is particularly evident in group chats, where it can be used to make important announcements and share updates. Pinned messages will allow group members to easily access and reference key information, ensuring that important messages do not get lost in the conversation.
At this stage, the message pinning feature is limited and available only to a select group of beta testers who have installed the latest version of the platform through the TestFlight app. However, this new addition is expected to improve the overall WhatsApp experience for all users once it becomes more widely accessible.
