(web Desk) — WhatsApp is introducing an exciting new feature, set to be part of a future update, as reported by WABetaInfo.
The popular instant messaging app by Meta is developing a security checkup feature that will allow users to quickly review and enhance their security settings, adding extra layers of protection to their accounts.
The security checkup screen will suggest several features, including the option to set up a passkey, enabling users to log into WhatsApp using biometric data or a screen lock. Users will also have the ability to add an email to their account, facilitating account recovery when the verification code cannot be received via SMS.
Moreover, the security checkup will recommend enabling two-step verification, which provides an additional layer of security through a personal six-digit code.
By consolidating all critical security options in one place, the feature aims to make it easier for users to engage with and configure their security settings. This simplification ensures that users can easily navigate and understand the various options available to protect their accounts.
The security checkup feature is currently under development and will be available in a future update.
