LAHORE (Daily Point) — With the launch of Chat Lock, a new security feature, WhatsApp has taken significant strides in safeguarding user privacy.
Refusing to rest on its laurels, the messaging giant is actively developing a second layer of defense for restricted chats known as the “Secret Code” function. Presently in the beta testing phase, this latest addition is accessible to a select group of users.
For those fortunate enough to have upgraded to the latest Android 2.23.24.20 WhatsApp beta, they will notice a conspicuous addition to the list of restricted chats: the Secret Code settings area. Through this section, users can conceal the entry point that grants access to locked chats.
Users have the option to hide the visibility of an entry point in the chat list by configuring a secret code. Alternatively, they can effortlessly access their closed discussions by entering the secret code directly into the Chats tab’s search field.
The introduction of the secret code function not only provides users with additional privacy choices but also ensures that the entry point remains hidden from intruders until the correct code is entered. With this discreet layer of protection, consumers can feel confident that their private conversations are secure.
Some beta testers now have the ability to conveniently remove the list of closed conversations from their privacy settings, offering a solution for those concerned about potentially losing their secret code.
